Free Prix Day

The 37th Detroit Grand Prix in the city’s history begins with a tradition that started at the very first Grand Prix event in the Motor City back in 1982. Free Prix Day will return on Friday, June 4, offering free access to the high-energy opening day of the 2027 Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear. Fans will experience on-track action from all three series, including NTT INDYCAR SERIES practice, IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship practice and qualifying, and INDY NXT by Firestone practice on the Streets of Downtown Detroit.
Chevrolet Sports Car Classic and INDYCAR/INDY NXT Qualifying

The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship returns Saturday, June 5, with the GTP and GTD PRO classes battling wheel-to-wheel in the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic. NTT INDYCAR SERIES and INDY NXT by Firestone drivers will also be on track with practice and qualifying on the demanding downtown street circuit in advance of Sunday’s races.

The 1.7-mile, nine-turn Streets of Downtown Detroit circuit that runs along the award-winning Detroit Riverwalk, will host two thrilling races on Sunday afternoon. The superstars of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES will compete in the Chevrolet INDYCAR Grand Prix, while the rising stars of the sport will battle it out in the INDY NXT by Firestone race at the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear.
