DETROIT, Mich. (October 27, 2026) — Racing Day presented by the Detroit Grand Prix will go full throttle with a return to the 2027 Detroit Auto Show on Tuesday, January 19. Racing Day will rev up the Detroit Auto Show at Huntington Place in Downtown Detroit as motorsports takes center stage with the collaboration between two of Detroit’s most iconic events. The 2027 Detroit Auto Show is January 14 – 24 and public show tickets are on sale now at detroitautoshow.com, with special pricing through November 30.
Racing Day will feature some of the top stars of motorsports, exhilarating ride-alongs on the show’s indoor track, world-class race cars on display and interactive experiences throughout the course of the day. The 2027 Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear official commemorative poster will also be unveiled on Racing Day.
Racing Day 2027 will turbocharge the Detroit Auto Show with:
- Interactive fan moments on the concourse and show floor, including photo opportunities, “Winner’s Circle” activations, autograph sessions and chances to meet some of racing’s top drivers.
- A thrilling track experience on the indoor course that honors some of the iconic landmarks featured on the actual Detroit Grand Prix street circuit, including production-vehicle ride-alongs with world-class drivers (driver lineup and ride windows to be announced).
- Iconic race cars and artifacts, including vehicles representing the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship that compete annually on the Streets of the Motor City at the Detroit Grand Prix.
- Enhanced programming, including Q&As and a panel discussion featuring drivers, motorsports industry insiders and representatives from the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear (full schedule to be announced).
Beyond the Racing Day activities on January 19, the Detroit Grand Prix will help drive excitement throughout the public days of the 2027 Detroit Auto Show. With displays on both the concourse and the show floor, the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear will feature video content, historical imagery, community engagement, interactive activities and high-performance open-wheel and sports cars, like the racing machines that compete annually on the Streets of Downtown Detroit.
