DETROIT, Mich. (Jan. 20, 2026) – Celebrating Detroit’s unparalleled automotive history and one of the most diverse car cultures in the world, the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear is once again joining forces with the Detroit Auto Show to create one of the most unique automotive displays in Downtown Detroit during Grand Prix race weekend, May 29-31. The return of Cruise Night presented by the Detroit Auto Show will deliver another electrifying showcase of cars and the cruise culture on Friday, May 29, 2026.
The 2026 Cruise Night will feature an exclusive lineup, strictly limited to 100 vehicles, including classic cars, custom builds, hot rods, muscle cars, exotic rides and more. The selected 2026 Cruise Night vehicles will transform the Grand Prix street circuit into a free, family‑friendly event that will bring the opening day of the 2026 Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear to a thrilling cruisin’ conclusion.
“We were so excited to start a new Detroit Grand Prix tradition last year with Cruise Night presented by the Detroit Auto Show and we can't wait to welcome car enthusiasts, families and cruisers of all ages back to the track on Friday night, May 29th,” said Michael Montri, President of the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear. “Cruise Night celebrates Detroit’s unrivaled automotive heritage, culture and innovation, and the Grand Prix race circuit provides a truly unique and special setting for a Motor City car show on the streets of Downtown Detroit, surrounded by the historic landmarks of our city.”
Following the last racing action of the day on track – qualifying for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship on Friday evening – Cruise Night participants will enter the 1.7‑mile Detroit Grand Prix circuit for a cruisin’ parade lap of the track. The cool collection of cars will then be displayed along the Jefferson Avenue frontstretch, giving fans a rare opportunity to walk the racing surface and enjoy an immersive automotive showcase in one of Detroit’s most iconic settings.
Fans may enter the track free of charge through crossing points at Hart Plaza and Spirit Plaza to explore the unique vehicles, take photos and enjoy a fun summer evening dedicated to Detroit’s world‑renowned automotive legacy. Detroit Grand Prix Cruise Night presented by the Detroit Auto Show will also feature some unique experiences for fans throughout the evening, including tech talks with industry insiders, food trucks, music and more on the Grand Prix circuit.
